We’re excited to share a special announcement!
Our residency at Swoop House & Gardens has been an incredible opportunity to stretch our creativity in crafting curated, seasonally inspired tasting menus. BUT, for everyone who’s told us how much they’ve also missed our à la carte offerings… We Hear You! And, we’ve missed that too.
With that, here’s to what comes next— In our pursuit to offer the best of both worlds — an à la carte menu and a chef’s tasting experience — we’ll be saying goodbye to our current space this week to work on a location option that provides us the kitchen space and flexibility needed to bring back your favorites, and grow into a full-service restaurant once again.
A huge thank-you to our caring, talented team, and to everyone who continues to support Poeta along the way. We’re deeply grateful for the news that Poeta has been Michelin Recommended, a recognition that feels like the perfect punctuation mark to this chapter. Stay tuned for details and updates on this new venture— We can’t wait to host you again soon!

Meet the Team…
Exec. Pastry Chef

A native Austinite, and self-taught Chocolatier, Pastry Chef Krystal Craig was inspired in a culinary career from growing up in and around the local food scene. After years of creating chocolates for multiple top-Austin establishments, Krystal now co-owns Intero Restaurant and looks forward to continuing her passion for chocolate, pastry and providing a great customer experience with Poeta.

Born & raised in Austin, Chef Ian Thurwachter is self-taught in his profession, specializing in whole animal butchery and sustainable cooking practices. In addition to co-owning Intero Restaurant, his career includes cooking with some of the city’s most well-known institutions.
Chef de Cuisine

Hailing from Massachusetts, Chef Kevin Donovan began his career early on through culinary training in a vocational highschool program and working as a short-order cook. After attending the CIA in New York, he made his way to Austin working for several well-known restaurants. He is a fan of history, all things Italian, honoring regional traditions of cuisine with a Texas flair.
